What types of wood flooring are available?
There are three basic types. There is Unfinished solid hardwood, prefinished hardwood floors and laminate.
Unfinished solid floors (3/4’’) are installed and then sanded and finished on site. The prefinished hardwood floors can be solid (3/4" thick) or engineered, made in layers so they can be glued to your subfloor. Both of these choices come from the factory already finished and ready to install. Laminate is a product designed to look like hardwood floors but is actually a computer generated image, finished with a plastic polymer coating.
Are hardwood floors hard to care for?
No. You would sweep or vacuum and then clean with the recommended cleaner. Ask us for more information on preferred cleaners.
Are wood floors expensive?
No, it costs about as much as other high quality floor coverings.
Where can I install hardwood in my home?
Hardwood flooring can be installed anywhere in your home, but we do not recommend installing wood in a full bathroom. There are also some restrictions regarding below grade areas.
